I'm lyss!
Telling your story through cinematic photos you can feel time and time and time again is truly what gets my juices flowing. I aim to get to know you and your lover- your likes, dislikes, dreams, and aspirations to ensure I am able to capture a story that's individual to you, and that when you see your photos, you'll say, "Wow, these truly feel like us." Helping you see your complete story through the eyes of my lens and giving you the ability to relive those moments and emotions each time you view them is something that is honestly irreplaceable.
I married my forever sweetheart, Ethan, about 2.5 years ago and man do I love my cute hubby! When I'm not gawking over your love story (which is most of the time...), you can probably find me hanging with the hubs, cooking/baking, shopping, working out, obsessing over sunsets, or eating food. I'm a huuuggee foodie! Like... huge. It's kind of funny- my husband and I will make a tasty meal and end up talking about how good it was for the rest of the night, and when we finally realize all we've been talking about for the last two hours was food, we roll our eyes and laugh. I'm just glad his love for food matches mine lol.
A Few Things To Know...
Shooting together is super fun! It usually entails you and your lover admiring each other, running around together, chasing the sunset, and me capturing your love and your story while you're at it!
I will use fun little prompts to guide you throughout our session in order to tell your story in a way that's most authentic to you. Shortly after you book with me, I will send you a "get to know you" questionnaire, which will allow me to learn more about you so I'm able to better document your human connection. However, if I ever ask you to do a pose or prompt that you're not comfortable with, let me know! I never want you to be anything but yourselves, because that's what I'm here to capture.
My mission is to tell your story through cinematic photos you can feel time and time again. I aim to photograph your love in such a way that hasn't been captured through images before. A full and complete picture of your connection with one another, the feeling you get when your partner snuggles you in tight, the sensation you receive from gentle kisses on your skin, the safety you feel when you lock eyes with your one and only, visions of your passions, your dreams, your goals, and the depth of your devotion for each other.
Prepping For Your Session...
- Location. There are so many stunning locations in Utah, you really can't go wrong. I have put together a guide for you including 25 beautiful locations in Northern Utah. Keep the seasonality in mind when selecting a location. You should choose a location that feels like you, and that fits your style and personality.
- Wardrobe. Think coordinating, not matching. I will send you my wardrobe guide that includes resources to help you choose the best outfits for your photoshoot. You're also always free to send me pictures of potential outfit ideas and I can give you my insight and opinion!
- Props. Props can add a lot to the storytelling aspect of my work. Props are by no means necessary, and I do quite a few of my sessions without any props, but certain props that are original to you add a "real" element to the photos. I recommend bringing something to your session/basing your session off of something you love to do together. Some examples include: going on a picnic, going on a coffee date, jumping in a lake together, adventuring around a library, making breakfast together at your home, going to a farmers market, picking out your christmas tree, going for a swim on the beach, etc. By doing an activity you enjoy, you are guaranteed to have priceless photos that genuinely capture your interests, your connection, and your unique story.
- Time. I love to chase light during our sessions. I select the time we shoot based on the light at the location, as light is another element that aides in telling your overall story. I will touch base with you the week before/the week of your session to confirm the date + time.
- Please arrive + be ready to start on time. Please plan for traffic and parking constraints. It's best to arrive early so we can start on time. :)
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you give raw/unedited images?
I do not! Editing is a large part of the magic that goes into photos. Without editing, my work is incomplete. My style is part of what makes me unique as a photographer and I always want to make sure my work is represented to the fullest!
When will we get our photos back?
Your digital gallery of edited photos from your session are sent within 3 weeks (maximum) of your session date. You will then select your set amount of images, and/or pay the additional amount due if you choose to purchase more than the set amount of images. I will send over your selected photos for you to download, favorite, and order prints!
Wedding galleries are sent within 3-4 weeks (maximum) of your wedding date where you can then download, favorite, and order prints!
Your must download your gallery to whatever devices you'd like within a week of the delivery date before the link expires.
I like to deliver galleries as quickly as I can, while still giving each photo the time it needs.
Will you photoshop us?
The only editing I do to alter the image is minimally touching up skin texture or sometimes removing distracting objects.
How do you accept payment?
I accept payment via Venmo or Apple Pay. If you do choose to pay via Venmo, make sure you don't click the sellers fee, as it takes a chunk out of the amount you pay. 50% will be due as a non-refundable down payment, the rest will be due on or before your session/wedding date.
What if we're awkward and don't know how to pose ourselves?
No need to worry- I gotchu! I pose and prompt you throughout the whole session to ensure we capture a story that's organic and true to you. I have been doing this a long time and know which prompts pull out depth and feeling. I love to make my clients feel comfortable and live in the moment! If you want to kiss, spin, or snuggle up to each other, I totally support that!
